Press Release: New Service Coordination Areas
Home and Community Services, Inc. has been committed to providing the highest quality of in-home non-medical support services to children and adults with physical disabilities and the elderly in Washington, Greene, and Fayette Counties. We are proud to announce that we have now begun accepting referrals for Service Coordination Services for adults with disabilities in Lawrence, Beaver, Westmoreland, and Allegheny Counties.
Service Coordination Services identifies how to meet a need, to satisfy a preference, to solve a problem or challenge, or to achieve a specific goal for the consumers; specifically focusing on the consumer's choice. Overall, Service coordination includes facilitating the comprehensive individual service plan development process, gaining access to needed Home and Community Based Services and other state plan services, coordinating the provision of services and supports, locating qualified service providers, and tracking and conducting on- going review of service delivery.
If you or someone you know is in need of receiving these services please contact Renee West at our Washington office at 724-229-9050 or toll free at 1-877-417-9050. Please visit us on the web at www.homeandcommunityservices.org and "Like Us" on our Facebook page.

2010 Annual Consumer Advisory Picnic
Home and Community Services hosted its Annual Consumer Advisory Picnic held at the Washington Park Lion's Pavilion on Wednesday, August 24, 2010 from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. The sun hid behind the clouds most of the day but everyone in attendance enjoyed great picnic food and desserts, a visit by the Washington County Smoke House, and the social experience of meeting other consumers.
The cooler temperatures allowed everyone to stay and enjoy the conversation and Popcorn Willy's donated a prize basket to add to the festivities. Thank you to all the staff of Home and Community Services that volunteered their time to have such a wonderful day event for their consumers, and to Charlie, for making sure that everyone that wanted to attend was present.
